| SUMMER PROGRAMME AROUND THE ACHENSEE
Nature, art and culture, history, ancient monuments and modern structures – there's so much to explore by the Achensee.
The region boasts a wealth of impressive sites. For example, during the summer of 1957 two mountain-hikers discovered near Mount Guffert a north-facing open cave with Etruscan inscriptions.
Beside the western banks of the Achensee is the Alpenpark Karwendel – one of the oldest, interlinked, cross-border nature reserves in the Eastern Alps.

In Pertisau, you will find the Vitalberg Museum, where you can learn about the origins of Tyrolean stone oil and how it is extracted.
One unforgettable experience is a trip on the oldest operational steam rack and pinion railway. The just under 7km long journey through the mountains from Jenbach to the Seespitz boat quay takes 45 minutes.

Tyrol's Sport & Vital Park can offer the perfect combination of fun, sport and leisure. There's something to suit the whole family.
There is so much to choose from: the choice of sport and leisure facilities in the region is simply endless. You will find the activity that perfectly meets your needs – on land or on water.
But of course you don't have to go hill walking or sailing. You can do a day-long bike tour around the lake or join the inline skaters on the beautifully surfaced paths.
But the more adventurous may try (tandem) paragliding, kitesurfing, mountain biking, rafting, diving, etc.
And in winter? Well, that's obvious – choose from superbly groomed cross-country trails (with quality seal), Alpine skiing fun on the pistes, snowboarding, snowbiking, tobogganing, guided snowshoe walks, and lots more.
